Wednesday, March 06 2024

For the sixth consecutive year CAS, Aldesa’s road infrastructure concession in Mexico, has held a charitable event to collect food and toys for “Casa Hogar Alegre Odres Nuevos”, in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.

This initiative, entitled “Teaming Up With The Three Kings”, has been able to gather almost 450 kilogrammes of food and a hundred toys, which will be donated to the 95 neglected children assisted by the centre. Furthermore, CAS staff worked alongside Casa Hogar’s children by participating in various games and sports. Through this fund-raising event, CAS hopes to contribute to the local community’s wellbeing, reaffirming its role as an agent for positive change.

This and other charitable initiatives launched by CAS are evidence of its commitment to SDG 3 Good Health and Wellbeing and Axis III of Social and Economic Justice, which is covered by principle nine of the Earth Charter.

Aldesa has been CAS’s reference shareholder since 2007 and, along with its partner AINDA Energía & Infraestructura- a pioneering leader in responsible investment in Latin America-, is currently in charge of operation & maintenance for the Tuxtla Gutiérrez-San Cristóbal de las Casas (46.5 km) and Arriaga-Ocozocoautla (93 km) toll motorways, in the state of Chiapas (Mexico). These are two of the region’s main arteries which, in 2023 alone, registered approximately 12.2 million travellers; a figure of 160 million has been reached since the concession began in 2007.
