Friday, October 28 2022

Aldesa and Acisa participated in the 2nd International Conference on the Operation and Safety of Road Tunnels and the 8th National Tunnels Symposium. Organised by PIARC - World Road Association and the Technical Road Association, the meeting brought together more than 1,000 professionals from the sector between the 25th and 28th of October in Granada, Spain.

The President of the Provincial Council of Granada, José Entrena, and the Vice Minister of Development, Infrastructures and Territorial Planning of the Regional Government of Andalusia, Mario Muñoz, were the personalities in charge of the opening ceremony, held in the company of other authorities.

Sustainability, challenges raised by climate change and the resilience of infrastructures, as well as the technological transformation of road transport were some of the central themes developed during the sessions, selected for their impact on the redefinition of design and management standards for roads and, therefore, for road tunnels.

The conference also served to highlight one of Acisa's technological solutions: Sagit Túnel, a tunnel control platform for SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems) solutions that enables integrated management and complete control of lighting systems, signalling, ventilation and data collection stations, among other parameters. This solution is already operating, among other projects, in the Perales del Río tunnel on the M-50 highway, one of the main ring roads of the Spanish capital, which is used by an average of 80,000 vehicles per day.
