Aldesa has been awarded a new project in the railway sector valued at around 74.6 million euros. The company will carry out the extension of the Bratislava tramway, in Slovakia, within the framework of a contract awarded by the City of Bratislava (Hlavné mesto SR Bratislava) to its subsidiary Aldesa Polska Services Sp., in a consortium with two Slovak companies. This is the first public contract won by Aldesa in the country, where it has been present since 2018.

The project includes, among its main actions, the construction of a 3.9-kilometer section of railway line, integrated in the second phase of the tramway to Petržalka –the largest neighborhood in Bratislava– in the Bosakova-Janikov dvor section. It also includes the construction of seven tram stops, two new tram bridges, a 4-meters wide cycle path parallel to the tram line track, pavements, and the demolition and removal of a 280-meter-long unfinished expressway tunnel, among other works. In addition, in line with the concept of Smart Cities, the crossings will be operated by traffic lights while the concept of public transport preference will be also applied.

Aldesa started its activity in Slovakia with the construction of buildings and facilities for industrial uses, including fuel depots, warehouses and production lines, together with private companies such as Jaguar Land Rover and Gestamp. The extension of the Bratislava tramway will increase its portfolio with references in the public sector while consolidating its presence in the country. As a global company, Aldesa has a wide experience in the development of infrastructure projects in Spain, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Hungary and Poland, among other markets. In particular, in Poland, Aldesa is in charge of the construction of tram routes in Poznań and Gdańsk and the implementation of the Dynamic Passenger Information System for PKP PLK at 133 stations and stops throughout the country. The company is also the general contractor for six sections of expressways, including S19, S6 and S7 and a reference in the field of wind energy, information systems (ITS) and security systems.

Aldesa has also partipated in the modernization project of Gdansk tramway, in Polonia.
