CAS Renews Its Commitment to Sustainability and Receives the ESR Distinction for the Second Consecutive Year
Wednesday, March 26 2025
For the second consecutive year, CAS has been recognized with the Socially Responsible Company (ESR) distinction, an award granted by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI), which highlights companies’ commitment to sustainability, business ethics, and positive community impact.
In this edition, CAS achieved an average score of 3.6225, representing an increase of 0.7975 points from the previous year and 1.1725 points above other accredited entities (a total of 915). The company stood out in the four evaluated areas (environmental, social, governance, and global context), positioning itself as a benchmark in its industry and among large companies in Mexico.
Key Progress in Sustainability and Responsible Management
This year, the global evaluation context shifted from measuring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to addressing Social Leadership and Digital Ethics—areas in which CAS showed a strong performance.
To achieve these results, the company implemented a strategic work plan launched in July 2024, with active participation from CAS department heads. As part of the process, 18 comparative reports covering three consecutive years were developed to reach development level 4, along with the generation of new evidence required by CEMEFI. Additionally, progress was made toward level 5 certifications in sustainability and quality processes, such as ISO 45001, 9001, 14001, and EDGE.
With this new recognition, CAS reaffirms its commitment to corporate social responsibility and continues to promote initiatives that generate a positive impact on its employees, clients, and the community.
Leadership in the Transport Sector
Aldesa is the leading shareholder of CAS, a concessionaire in which Ainda, Energía & Infraestructura also participates. CAS is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Tuxtla Gutiérrez–San Cristóbal de las Casas (46.5 km) and Arriaga–Ocozocoautla (93 km) toll highways in the state of Chiapas (Mexico). These are two of the main arterial routes in Chiapas, registering around 12 million toll transactions annually.
Grupo Aldesa's concession area in Latin America also includes other road projects, such as the Ruta 5 Talca–Chillán highway in Chile, covering 195 kilometers.
