Tuesday, July 16 2024

Aldesa, through its subsidiary specialized in railway infrastructure, Coalvi, has successfully completed the logistics project of constructing the Railway Access to the East Industrial Area of Burgos, in Spain. The project, with an investment of 14 million euros, has been financed 50% by the Ministry of Development and Environment and 50% by Kronospan, a company dedicated to the manufacture of construction boards.

The new infrastructure has been categorized as a regional priority project for the railway access to the industrial area on the east side of the city.

The facilities in the Castañares industrial park are now connected by a 5.3 km railway branch to the Villafría dry port. Its route surrounds the Villafría airport and runs parallel to the AP-1 highway until the intersection with the N-120, where an overpass has been built. This becomes key to the economic development of the region by significantly reducing road transport.

Aldesa has extensive experience in logistics interventions. It is currently executing several contracts for ADIF. Among them, the Valencia Fuente San Luis Intermodal and Logistics Terminal (Phase 1), part of a broader initiative to remodel the Valencia Fuente San Luis Logistics Center, located in the Mediterranean Corridor. Likewise, in the Júndiz (Vitoria) Intermodal and Logistics Platform, it is in charge of the first phase of the project that will gradually transform it into an interoperable facility, being the first in Spain to be connected in standard gauge to the Atlantic Corridor.
