Aldesa sells to China Three Gorges Spain its 105 MWp Photovoltaic portfolio in Cáceres, in Spain

Aldesa and China Three Gorges Spain (CTG Spain) have reached an agreement in which CTG Spain acquires 104.5 MWp of solar photovoltaic assets in Extremadura, in Spain. The portfolio comprises three PV installations located in the province of Cáceres: Belvis I (50MWp), Belvis II (50MWp) and Belvis III (4.5MWp). The assets are at a “ready to build” stage.

The EPC works will be carried out by Acisa, a technology company belonging to Aldesa group. Acisa will also carry out the operation & maintenance works on all three plants for a period of two years.

Construction of the assets is expected to start before the end of this year, as the Belvis projects are scheduled to enter commercial operations in the second half of 2023.

CTG Spain is part of CTG Group, the largest clean energy group in China and the largest hydropower enterprise in the world. Mr. Ignacio Herrero, CEO of China Three Gorges Europe, said “We are committed to continue contributing to Spain’s decarbonization and energy transition process through the acquisition of greenfield renewables projects like this one in Cáceres. We aim to further consolidate our position as a key player in the country’s renewable energy sector in the long-term and are looking forward to making progress on these projects alongside Aldesa Group”. On the other hand, Mr. Félix Núñez, Chairman of the Industrial division of Aldesa, emphasizes “This project marks a new milestone for Aldesa in our contribution to a better future thanks to projects that, with a strong accent in sustainability, are able to add value not only to our customers but have a very positive impact on the society as a whole”.
