Aldesa concludes the construction of a subsidised development of bioclimatic housing for young people

Aldesa Construcciones has finished in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) a development of subsidised rented housing for young people, but seven years after the granting of the final grade, houses can be bought. The act of handing over the keys of the houses to the winners took place in a institutional event held at the Palacio Municipal de Congresos de Madrid, chaired by the President of the Community of Madrid, Esperanza Aguirre.

"Soto del Henares Residential" includes 176 homes, of which 132 are one or two bedrooms and correspond to tenderers provided by the Community of Madrid, while the remaining 44 are three or four bedrooms. It also has 24 shops with a total area more than 3,200 m2.

This development is part of Soto del Henares Urban Development Consortium, which covers approximately 171 hectares and is managed by Arpeggio, a public undertaking of the Community of Madrid, dedicated to the management of land for all uses. The marketing of housing has been conducted through Aldesa Home, the real Grupo Aldesa?s estate company.

Bioclimatic design

Housing built by Aldesa in Torrejón de Ardoz are an example of bioclimatic architecture. The design has been conditioned, since its inception, for the purpose of obtaining greater use of environmental conditions, in order to achieve maximum energy savings. Thus, weather systems have taken active and passive energy use, including maximum sun exposure to reduce energy consumption in the cold months, cross ventilation, different treatment of the facades according to their orientation, plenty of areas vegetables in the courtyard of the plot and the collection of solar radiation by solar panels located on the roof of the building for use as support for the production of hot water and heating.
